Halcrow is delivering a 40-year strategy for growth around the Inner Moray Firth in Scotland's highlands.

As master planner and strategic advisor, we're helping to create four modern communities along the A96 corridor, with homes for 35,000 people in among green spaces.

We looked at planning, transportation, the property market and urban design to determine development options. Our solid working relationship with The Highland Council helped us to introduce a revenue-earning scheme - trip-based tariffs on vehicles - to fund essential infrastructure.

This is the UK's first 'smart growth' master plan. Promoting choice in living environments, lifestyles, employment and movement, the scheme is set to improve communities' quality of life.
