Since joining Halcrow in 2002, I've been closely involved in establishing our joint-venture business in Shanghai. We've built a solid reputation and exceptional brand recognition across the region, developing strong relationships with a string of high-profile organisations. One of my favourite parts of the job is the feedback I receive from clients.

We're working on long-term contracts, enabling us to positively influence a range of projects. We've taken the lead on schemes that have solidified communities, providing sustainable, diverse living environments.

When I travel I'm constantly looking for inspiration and best practice in planning and urban design. The ways in which different cultures approach development in an urban or rural setting - and how this is enforced or promoted - provide valuable lessons and help us refine what we do.
