I've been heavily involved in the White Cart Water flood prevention scheme - one of the largest of its kind in Scotland. Protecting 1,710 residential properties and 40 businesses, it will also create new wetland habitats and enhance the surrounding environment.

Applying my passion for environmental issues in a professional context has boosted my knowledge, and I've had some amazing experiences. My friends weren't surprised when I told them I'd spent all evening lying in a field, watching for badgers - they know it's all part of my job.
